The ninja from this village seem to specialize in Wind Release techniques and the Puppet Technique. The Daimyo does not live here, however, instead living in what amounts to a mountain top castle. Only recently has it become 'The village hidden in the sands' as a hidden ninja village, effectively being co-opted by the Kazekage. The village itself has a history and is one of the larger settlements inside the Land of Wind. Other Notesĭespite the idea of hidden villages seeming new, Sunagakure is in fact an old place, having once been an oasis. This is most obvious in the way that the land itself trades with the Land of Fire for its own benefit in resources and supplies even as there are skirmishes between the hidden villages. While not as openly bloody as Kirigakure, as that would be a waste of resources, there are few places as brutal as the land of wind and this is reflected in the politics of the Hidden Village.Īs in most villages, there is a tension between the Daimyo and the Kazekage in the Land of Wind. As a center for espionage, there are few places with more back room deals in the world than Sunagakure. The Kazekage is advised by a Jounin council who’s membership changes fairly frequently, be it through death of the members on missions, assassinations or political maneuvering.
Sousa has made Sunagakure the espionage center of the ninja world, compensating for the lack of manpower and resources with intelligence and cunning. Knowledge of any type is of interest to him (though some types more than others), and this shows in the emphasis Sunagakure has on information. While extremely adept in the ninja arts and a very capable leader, he considers himself first and foremost a scholar. Kokoroe Sousa is the Kazekage of Sunagakure. Sunagakure was founded by the First Kazekage, who gathered the desert-dwelling shinobi under his control with his overwhelming power. The First Kazekage is named Kokoroe Sousa.
